The Australian Central Coast Mariners won the AFC Cup for the first time in its history, following a 1-0 victory over Al-Ahed, in the final match of the competition, which was held in the Omani capital, Muscat.
The Australian team owes great credit for achieving this victory to its substitute player, Alu Cole, who scored for them in the 84th minute, while Al-Ahed were unable to equalize during the remaining time of the match, which took place at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex Stadium.
Al-Ahed team was looking to achieve its second title in the tournament, after it had won the title in the 2019 edition, while this is the first title for Australian clubs in the history of the AFC Cup.
