
The President of the Olympic Committee and the President of the Shooting and Hunting Federation, Dr. Pierre Jalkh, honored international shooter Ray Bassil for winning the gold medal in the Asian Championship held in South Korea, thus qualifying for the Summer Olympics to be held next summer in Paris. The honoring took place at the headquarters of the Safra Shooting and Hunting Club, in the presence of Bassil and a number of shooters. Jalkh expressed the pride and honor of the sports family in general and the shooting family in particular for the new achievement achieved by shooter Bassil and her participation in the Olympics for the fourth time in a row after the years 2012, 2016, and 2020, and her qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Jalkh considered that Lebanese shooting sports continue to raise the name of Lebanon high in international forums thanks to its male and female shooters and thanks to the administrative committee that oversees the progress of the game, which achieves remarkable results abroad. For her part, Bassil expressed her pleasure for winning the title of the largest continent in the world and qualifying for the next Olympics, thanking the support provided by the Federation throughout her career. And the Asian gold medal is dedicated to the homeland of cedars.
