Homenetmen Club announced the signing of the towering 32-year-old (2.30 m) player Hamad Fathi from Telecom Egypt Club, who contributed to his team reaching the Egyptian Cup final last week before losing to Zamalek Club. Hamad previously played for Smouha Club for 13 years, and also briefly played professionally in handball before returning to basketball. Hamad Fathi made history by becoming the first Egyptian player to win two championships with two different national teams, the first being the African Handball Championship, and the second being the Arab Basketball Championship. It is worth mentioning that Homenetmen is currently in fifth place in the Lebanese Basketball League.
