Training and graduation course for Taekwondo coaches

The Lebanese Taekwondo Federation organized a training and graduation course for new coaches for the year 2026 at the Mont La Salle Club in Ain Saadeh over two days. The course was attended by the Federation's President, Dr. Habib Zarifeh; Treasurer, Grand Master Elie Nehme; Federation member Andre Rostom; Head of the Examinations Committee, Grand Master Anwar Nehme; Head of the Referees Committee, Grand Master Michel Majdalani; and members of the Coaches Committee. The course opened with the national anthem, followed by a welcome address from the Head of the Coaches Committee, Grand Master Alan Najm (the course supervisor), who greeted Dr. Zarifeh, the Federation members, and all attendees and participants, including coaches and lecturers. Dr. Zarifeh then delivered a speech in which he praised the significant efforts of the Lebanese Taekwondo Federation and its various committees, commending their continuous work and excellent organization. He also emphasized that this year witnessed some changes in the tournament systems, most notably the Lebanese Colored Belt Championship, noting that this year is considered exceptional in terms of the number of participants and can be considered a record year in terms of participation. Zarifa also commended the work of all the federation's committees without exception, giving special attention to the coaches' committee, where he stressed the essential role of coaches, considering them the cornerstone in building the player and achieving success in taekwondo. The course included several lectures: - The rules of free fighting (Kyorugi), presented by Grand Master Michel Majdalani. - The Taekwondo Examiners Committee, presented by Grand Master Elie Nehme. - The rules of Poomsae (forms) tournaments, presented by Grand Master Elie Charrou. Master Abdel Amsi lectured on the agreed-upon one-, two-, and three-step fighting techniques. - Self-defense, presented by Master Michel Saad. - First aid, presented by Camille Ghanem. The ethics and protocol of Taekwondo were presented by Grand Master Nester Aoun. On the final day, participants underwent written and practical examinations.
