Taekwondo: Champion Leticia Aoun qualifies for the "Gran Prix Rome"

Lebanese taekwondo champion Leticia Aoun has qualified for the Rome Grand Prix, scheduled for June 5-7, following the release of the new international rankings by the World Taekwondo Federation last February. These rankings placed her among the top players in her weight category (under 57 kg) on ​​the global stage, allowing her to participate in one of the most prestigious international tournaments, which brings together the world's elite champions. Qualifying for the Grand Prix series is a significant achievement for any taekwondo athlete, especially given the difficult circumstances in Lebanon and the Middle East, where sporting activities have been largely suspended due to the war. In this context, Lebanese taekwondo has witnessed a remarkable resurgence, particularly in the last ten years, and specifically since the election of Dr. Habib Zarifeh as president of the Lebanese Taekwondo Federation in the fall of 2016. This resurgence is particularly evident in the national teams across all age groups for both men and women. Leticia Aoun is considered one of the most prominent taekwondo players in modern Lebanese history, and she has successfully established herself on the international stage in recent years. The continental and international stage thanks to her high talent and commitment to intensive training.
