
The headquarters of the Lebanese Olympic Committee witnessed the signing of a cooperation protocol between the Muay Thai and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Federations, in the presence of the Committee President, Dr. Pierre Jalakh, the Acting Director General of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Fadia Hallal, and a number of sports figures.
During the ceremony, Dr. Jalakh stressed the importance of cooperation in sports elections to unify ranks and develop the sports movement in Lebanon, emphasizing the need to prioritize the public interest over disputes.
For her part, Hallal welcomed the move and highlighted the ministry's role in regulating sports activities and ensuring compliance with regulations. Grand Master Sami Qablawi, president of the Muay Thai Federation, explained that the protocol aims to end the chaos plaguing combat sports, while Ahmed Hazer, president of the MMA Federation, emphasized the importance of regulating player transfers and combating doping.
It was also an occasion where Hazer presented the third-place trophy to the MMA team that participated in the Asian Combat Games Championship in Bahrain after winning 3 gold medals and a silver medal.
