Despite the loss, the president of the Lebanese Table Tennis Federation, George Koubli, praised Sahakian's performance, emphasizing that she played strongly and tried hard to counter Zhang's superior abilities, but the latter's experience and technical skills ultimately prevailed.

In the tennis competition, the Lebanese duo of Hadi Habib and Benjamin Hassan faced the Australian pair of Matthew Ebden and John Peers in a doubles match. Despite a strong performance from the Lebanese pair, they lost in straight sets (6-7, 2-6).
