Continuing its tradition of commemorating the anniversary of the Lebanese Civil War, the Beirut Golden Awards Association organized a friendly exhibition basketball match at Saint Joseph University. The event was attended by prominent figures from the official, social, artistic, and sporting spheres, including Beirut Governor Judge Marwan Abboud, Lebanese Actors Syndicate President Nehme Badawi, and Association President Mohammad Halwani. The Association revived this tradition after the overwhelming response it received in the past two years from celebrities who wished to participate this year. The aim of this gathering is to unite Lebanese people from all walks of life under the banner of the national sport, a sport that has become a shared passion and a meeting point for them both in Lebanon and abroad, where national teams and clubs have often made significant appearances. Halwani emphasized this point, saying, "The Association's calendar is packed with social and public activities this year, but we paused again at this sporting event at the request of the Association's friends and supporters, whom I thank for their continued trust. Everyone wanted to commemorate this history to reaffirm our rejection of war through a sport that was once a source of strength." Joy amidst the crises, as basketball brought all Lebanese people together again today.” The two teams played under the leadership of coach Rizkallah Zalloum and former basketball star Paul Bishara, with the participation of figures from the worlds of acting, art, and sports who have left their mark in their respective fields. The event concluded with the distribution of medals, trophies, and commemorative shields to the participants and sponsors of the match.
