Al-Sadaka qualified for the 2024 Lebanese Handball Cup final, after defeating Al-Shabab Harat Saida (Lebanese League champions) by a score of 9 goals, 34-25 (first half 16-11), in the match held between them in the Hatem Ashour Hall of Al-Sadaka Club, in the semi-final round.
The match was a tense affair between the two sides, dubbed "Yesterday's Teammates' Showdown," as Hassan and Hussein Saqr faced off against their former team. This brought the excitement to a fever pitch, with Ahmed, Hussein, and Karim Shaheen on the opposing team.
Al-Sadaka appeared more prepared than Al-Shabab, armed with a well-coordinated lineup that included Mohammed Zeineddine, Ali Sweidan, and the duo Saqr, along with the brilliant Haitham Muqdad and Samer Salama. Meanwhile, Harat Saida did not perform as expected, awaiting compensation in the league, which will begin after the end of the Lebanese Cup.
The top scorer in the match was Hassan Saqr, the winning team player, with 10 goals, while Ali Sweidan added 9 goals, Samer Salama scored 5 goals, and Mohamed Zein El Din scored 3 goals. Meanwhile, Ahmed Shaheen was the best scorer for the losing team with 9 goals, while Mohamed Hassan Saleh added 5 goals, Karim Shaheen scored 4 goals, and Hussein Shaheen and Hussein Hassan Saleh scored 3 goals each.
The match was refereed by Mazen Deeb and Talal Hamoud, with Marwa Rashid (recorder) and Basem Nasser (timekeeper), and monitored by Mohammed Haidar.
Al-Sadaka will play in the final match against the winner of the second semi-final between Al-Jaish (league runner-up) and 1875 Club.
