The Lebanese ambassador meets with members of the national team

The Lebanese Ambassador to Australia, Milad Raad, met with the Lebanese national football team delegation, which had arrived in the capital, Canberra, to begin its preparations for the second match against the Socceroos, next Tuesday, at the Geo Stadium, as part of the fourth round of matches in Group Nine of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup and the 2027 Asian Cup. Ambassador Raad and his family, in addition to members of the Lebanese community, welcomed the national team players and members of the technical and administrative staff. In a brief statement, he pointed out that since arriving in Canberra after a 4-hour overland journey, the Lebanese national team has begun its preparation program for the second consecutive match against Australia. The players were divided into two groups during training sessions, depending on whether they participated in the first match or not. This was in parallel with the technical staff's work on reviewing the most prominent aspects of our team's performance in the first match, with the aim of informing the players of the positives and negatives, hoping to achieve a positive result after the "Men of the Cedars" appeared at a good level, especially in the second half, where they threatened the home team's goal on more than one occasion, but without succeeding in scoring due to bad luck and the brilliance of Australian goalkeeper Mathew Ryan.
