
The General Assembly of the Lebanese Basketball Federation convened in a regular session at the Antranik Club, where the administrative and financial reports for the 2021-2022, 2022-2023, and 2023-2024 seasons were discussed and approved. The session was attended by the Federation President and members of the administrative board, in addition to a representative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, club representatives, and members of the press and media.
The session opened with the Lebanese national anthem, after which the Secretary General of the Federation announced that a quorum was reached with 177 votes cast by representatives of clubs from various divisions. Following this, the Federation President delivered a speech thanking those present and praising the clubs' support in achieving the successes witnessed in Lebanese basketball. He also outlined future plans, including developing administrative operations in cooperation with the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) and constructing new courts for the Federation.
Regarding the financial situation, the federation president described it as good, anticipating savings of nearly one million dollars by the end of the year. He also mentioned plans to transform clubs into academies to develop outstanding male and female players, and to improve regulations through workshops.
During the session, the minutes of the previous meeting were read and unanimously approved. The administrative report, which covered all the federation's activities and the participation of national teams and clubs in international events, was also presented and unanimously approved. The treasurer then explained the details of the financial statement, which indicated a surplus of 36 billion Lebanese pounds.
The session concluded with interventions on the working mechanisms of the Coaches Academy and the Referees Academy, followed by opening the floor for club representatives to ask their questions.
