
In a move aimed at promoting basketball in Lebanon, the Lebanese Basketball Federation signed a sponsorship contract with Decathlon for three seasons.
The ceremony, held at the "Le Mall - Dbayeh" complex, witnessed a wide attendance of senior sports and media figures, with the first vice president of the Asian Federation and president of the Lebanese Basketball Federation, Akram Halabi, at the forefront of the attendees, along with the representative of "Decathlon", Jean-Daniel Poitel, and the general manager of "Azadea" Lebanon, Wassim Rifai.
The ceremony began with the Lebanese national anthem, followed by a welcoming address from the master of ceremonies, Roumi Saleh. Then, Mr. Poitel spoke, expressing his delight at the partnership with the Lebanese Basketball Federation and confirming that the agreement includes sponsoring the Lebanese First Division Championship for three seasons. He emphasized Decathlon's commitment to supporting Lebanese sports on all levels, considering the partnership with the Lebanese Federation as evidence of the sport's progress towards international recognition.
For his part, Lebanese Basketball Federation President Akram Halabi expressed his delight at signing the partnership, emphasizing that Lebanese basketball has become a source of hope for the Lebanese people and a path toward a better future. Halabi explained that Decathlon and Azadea Group are contributing to the development of Lebanese basketball, praising the partners' efforts in achieving these accomplishments.
The final speaker was Wassim Rifai, who thanked the Lebanese Basketball Federation for its significant efforts in developing the sport and achieving notable international successes. He emphasized that Decathlon's mission is to support sports and encourage all age groups to participate in the world of basketball.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the sponsorship agreement between the Lebanese Federation and Decathlon was signed amidst applause from the attendees, confirming that this partnership will be the beginning of a bright future for basketball in Lebanon.
