
The Lebanese Taekwondo Federation honored its champions and champion clubs for the year 2024 at a ceremony held at the "President Emile Lahoud Sports Complex" in Dekwaneh, in the presence of the South Korean Ambassador Il Park and his wife, the Federation President Dr. Habib Zarifeh, members of the Federation, heads of clubs, coaches, champions and their families.
The ceremony opened with the national anthem, followed by a speech from the master of ceremonies, Christelle Haddad, who praised the federation’s efforts in completing its annual calendar despite the difficult circumstances, noting the brilliance of champion Leticia Aoun, who achieved fifth place in the Paris Olympics.
Dr. Zarifa affirmed that 2024 was an exceptional year, thanking the parents for their support and praising the cooperation with the South Korean Embassy, which supported the federation's activities. He also congratulated President Joseph Aoun on his election, emphasizing the continued commitment to elevating the sport.
Ambassador Park expressed his support for the Union, praising the achievements that raised the Lebanese flag in international forums, and then presented commemorative gifts to the Union's president and members.
The ceremony concluded with the crowning of the champions, as Dr. Zarifa presented honorary shields to the ambassador and to the champion Leticia Aoun, who also received a token of appreciation from the embassy.
