
The Higher Center for Military Sports officially announced the organization of the "Army Race" for a distance of 10 km, scheduled to be held on Sunday morning, September 28, in Beirut, under the patronage of the Commander of the Lebanese Army, General Rudolph Haykal, and under the supervision of the Lebanese Athletics Federation.
The announcement was made during a press conference held at the President Emile Lahoud Complex in Dekwaneh, attended by military, sports, and media figures. Brigadier General Mikhail Moussa, Commander of the Higher Center for Military Sports, confirmed that the race is being held under the slogan "Together We Reach," emphasizing that participation is free and open to all, with the ambition to make it an annual event with both local and international participation.
For his part, the head of the Athletics Federation, Roland Saadeh, stressed the federation’s full support for this event, while Major Rod Abu Ghazaleh gave a detailed explanation of the race route, which starts from the Officers Club in Al Manara, announcing that registration will close on September 16.
Lebanese runner Ali Kanaan, the record holder for the 10km race, expressed his gratitude to the army and the federation of forces, stressing his ambition to reach the Olympic Games in the future.
