Technical meeting for Beirut Basketball Cup

The technical meeting for the Beirut Betarabia Basketball Cup was held at the Belle Azure Hotel in Jounieh on the eve of the tournament's opening. Attendees included Akram Halabi, First Vice President of the Asian Basketball Federation and President of the Lebanese Basketball Federation; Charbel Michel Rizk, Secretary General of the Lebanese Federation and Secretary General of the West Asian Basketball Association; the heads of the participating delegations; the technical directors and administrators of the four national teams: Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, and Iraq; and representatives of Global Active Sports, Ibrahim Desouki and Samer Saadeh. Desouki opened the meeting by welcoming the guests on behalf of the organizing committee, wishing the participating teams success and hoping the tournament would achieve its goal of preparing them for official competitions, starting with the first Asian window for the FIBA Asia Cup and FIBA World Cup qualifiers. Halabi, in turn, welcomed the participants, especially the Palestinian national team, considering Lebanon their second home. He expressed his hope that the tournament would achieve its desired technical objectives and noted that this tournament was the first in a series of international tournaments to be held later in cooperation with the Beirut Cup organizers. He also hoped that sportsmanship would prevail in all matches and that injuries would be avoided. The players. As for Rizk, who chaired the technical meeting, he considered the tournament important for the people of the region and proof that we are still alive, thanking the organizing committee for bringing the Palestinian team, whose participation comes despite the difficulties, noting that the tournament is a new opportunity to develop Arab basketball. Rizk confirmed that international referees will officiate the tournament matches. The meeting addressed all organizational and legal matters related to the tournament, reviewed the jersey colors of the four participating teams, and then answered questions from the delegations. The tournament, which runs from February 17th to 20th at the Ghazir Club stadium, will kick off on Saturday with a match between Lebanon and Iraq at 4:45 PM, followed by a match between Syria and Palestine at 7:30 PM. The tournament continues on Sunday with a match between Lebanon and Palestine at 4:45 PM, and a match between Iraq and Syria at 7:30 PM. The tournament concludes on Tuesday, February 20th, with a match between Iraq and Palestine at 3:30 PM, and a match between Lebanon and Syria at 5:45 PM. All matches will be held at the Ghazir Club hall. It is worth noting that the tournament matches will be broadcast live on MTV, the official broadcaster of the tournament.
