اتحاد الجامعات يكرّم الأبطال في ليلة احتفالية

In a special ceremony held at the Habtoor Hotel, the Lebanese University Sports Federation concluded its 2024-2025 season by distributing trophies to the winning teams and players in its various championships, amidst an official and sports presence led by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Noura Bayrakdarian, the Federation President, Ziad Saadeh, members of the administrative committee, in addition to university and sports figures.

In his opening remarks, His Excellency stressed the importance of university sports in building an ambitious athletic generation, affirming that the Federation has been committed for four years to advancing this sport despite all the challenges, adding: “In the midst of the war, we refused to let university sports be an additional victim, and we organized a season that was the largest and most beautiful in terms of the number of matches and the level of competition.”

Minister Birghedrian, in turn, greeted the champions, praising the values they embodied in the fields of competition, considering university sports an educational space that instills discipline, ambition and team spirit in the students, and affirmed the ministry’s continued support for this vital sport.

The ceremony included honoring the Arab Open University (AOU) for its effective sponsorship, and presenting shields to Minister Birghedrian and AOU's Director of Sports, Zakaria Sharara. It concluded with the awarding of prizes to the winning teams, with Saint Joseph University receiving the Federation's shield for the fourth time after topping the overall points standings across various tournaments.
