The Lebanese national futsal team returned to Beirut after qualifying for the 2026 AFC Futsal Championship finals scheduled to be held in Indonesia. The delegation received a distinguished official and popular welcome at Rafik Hariri International Airport, in the presence of the President of the Lebanese Football Federation, Hashem Haidar, the Secretary General, Jihad Al-Shahaf, and Executive Committee member, Emile Rustom.

Haider emphasized that this achievement comes amidst exceptional circumstances facing both Lebanon and the federation, stressing that the national team's qualification for the thirteenth time reflects the players' determination and fighting spirit. He added that Lebanese football receives no official financial support, and stadiums lack international standards, yet the players continue to raise Lebanon's name high in continental competitions.

Haider extended special thanks to President Joseph Aoun for his moral support, considering him a cornerstone of the successes achieved. He also revealed an upcoming visit to Lebanon by FIFA President Gianni Infantino.

Haider believes that the strong start to the Lebanese league this season reflects a new ambition for football in the country, with a promising fan presence that enhances the achievements of the national teams.
