The Lebanese Federation for Climbing and Mountain Sports held its second annual general assembly at the Faculty of Sports Sciences at Antonine University, in the presence of members of the administrative body, representatives of clubs and federation committees.
After reviewing and evaluating the Federation's activities during the previous period, most notably Lebanon's participation in the Asian Climbing Championship hosted by Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and the initiation of the Arab Federation's establishment following Palestine's acceptance as a member of the International Federation of Climbing and Mountaineering (IFSC), the attendees emphasized the importance of launching the university diploma program in mountain guiding in cooperation with Antonine University, particularly with regard to promoting rural and mountain tourism.
The attendees discussed the future work plan, championships and activities that the federation intends to implement, stressing the importance of activating the participation of Arab and foreign athletes in them, in addition to the federation’s role in encouraging and supporting the holding of these events and promoting the Lebanese regions that host them abroad.
The proposed amendments to the union's bylaws, submitted by the administrative body, were also approved. These amendments aim to open membership to individuals and broaden their active participation in the decisions of the union and its central and regional committees. The union will announce further implementation steps soon.
