The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) has announced the cancellation of the results of the Indian team Mohun Bagan in the AFC Champions League (2) for the 2024/2025 season, after the team withdrew from its match against the Iranian team Tractor in the first round of the first group competitions.

The federation explained in a statement published on its official website that the decision to cancel came in accordance with Article 2, Paragraph 5 of the competition regulations, as the Indian team was considered to have withdrawn due to its failure to attend the match scheduled for October 2nd in the Iranian city of Tabriz.

The statement added that, based on Article 6, Paragraph 5 of the competition regulations, all matches played by Mohun Bagan in the tournament were cancelled and deemed null and void, in order to ensure that no points or goals were counted for these matches when determining the final ranking in Group A, as stipulated in Article 3, Paragraph 8 of the regulations.

It is worth noting that the cancellation of the Indian team's results comes within the framework of the Asian Football Confederation's commitment to the competition regulations, which impose strict penalties on clubs that do not commit to participating in matches according to the specified schedule.
