Lukaku's disappointment

Belgium's all-time top scorer Romelu Lukaku has set a negative record by having three goals disallowed in a single European Championship.

Lukaku had three goals disallowed after VAR was used in Belgium's first two matches at Euro 2024 in Germany.

Lukaku had two goals disallowed during Belgium's 1-0 defeat to Slovakia in their opening continental campaign, the first for offside and the second for handball, before Lukaku scored again in his country's 2-0 win over Romania, but the referee disallowed the goal for offside after consulting VAR.

Lukaku has 85 goals for Belgium and will try to increase his tally against Ukraine next Wednesday and score his first goal in this tournament.

Belgium have no choice but to beat Ukraine, as all four teams in Group 5 have 3 points.
